About Me

My photo
I'm Rhiannon! I love the arts, all kinds. I'm a Freshman at BYU-I and will be serving as a sister missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in June of 2013! I'm so incredibly excited! I love the Lord and this Gospel and am so amazed that He trusts me with His gospel and the bringing of others into His fold to feel His abounding love!

Reflections

Wow, it's been a REALLY long time. I try to tell myself that Instagram is like photo blogging so that I don't feel as horrible for not keeping up with my actual blog. It's my last Sunday in Rexburg though and IT'S EASTER! Since I'll be leaving soon I've just been reflecting on how blessed I am to be able to attend school at such an inspired place. I love starting class with a prayer and being able to tie things in class back to gospel topics. It's amazing not having your morals or lifestyle questioned. This place is truly inspired. I've learned so much here and grown up a lot. It's crazy how being thousands of miles from home does that to you. ;)

Anyways, to catch you up on my crazy life...
First off, I'm a REALLY clumsy person. I sprained my hand. Doing homework was really complicated for awhile...
Then, we of course celebrated Pi Day.

Then, we went hiking last weekend. It was fantastic and the weather was awesome!!

We were also really excited that we found TONS of wolf prints!
Then we just spent a ton of time being awesome, like usual...

And, we dyed Easter Eggs last night!

Anyways, I feel that since it's Easter and my heart is so full today, I need to write an Easter post. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we celebrate not only the resurrection of Christ, but the Atonement he performed for us in the garden. Because of this miraculous atonement we are able to be redeemed and live with our Father in Heaven again. Because of this, we are not lost. We can turn to the Lord at any time we need Him and He will help us. I love my savior and am forever grateful to Him for all of His sacrifices and for the restoration of His gospel  on the earth today. http://www.lds.org/topics/easter?lang=eng
Now, I'll leave you with a picture of me all excited on Easter Morning! ;) God bless!

My trip to California

It's super late, but I got to go see my sister in LA for Christmas. It was awesome! I flew into Long Beach in December and, especially coming from the negatives weather in Idaho, it felt fantastic. I don't think I've ever been in a more populated area in my life. The lights NEVER stopped unless we were going over the ocean.

And seeing Penelope's cute little face wasn't bad either. lol

Anyways, we visited tons of places and I had the BEST time and an awesome Christmas!
We spent my first weekend in San Diego with my brother in laws family who are super awesome and San Diego is gorgeous.

This may just turn into a collage of Penny, she's definitely the cutest thing I saw anyways.

We hit up Santa Monica, all the boulevards, In-n-out burger which of course is a must, and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Oh, and the Getty which was AMAZING! They had a Florence through the Renaissance exhibit and I got to see Botticelli paintings and Giotto and tons of other paintings I'm studying in my Humanities class this semester, and I got to see them for real. Any ways, I'll share the pics now.

On our way to San Diego. I made my sister stop so I could take pics. It was gorgeous and PERFECT outside. <3 p="">
 Penelope at Target!
More on the way to San Diego
This bird followed us for the longest time and once we tried to snap a pics with him, he decided we weren't that cool...

Penny right before we went inside the Safari park!

There WAS a hobo in the middle of this well-tailored lawn...I cut him out of the pic though. Haha
I baby sat Penelope once. She threw herself into her car seat and threw a tantrum because she couldn't find her parents. This is 10 seconds before said tantrum ensued...

To teach and preach and serve...

So, on Tues our bishop came by our apartment. He said he wanted to tell me on Sunday, but the status on my mission papers was assignment made. So, on Thursday morning, after only like, 3 hours of sleep because I was so excited, I woke up ran to my mail box and there was NOTHING!! I felt dejected all day.

I woke up this morning and had to keep from hyperventilating when I opened the mail box.

Excuse the fact that I look awful. I'd been up for a whole 5 minutes.

Anyways! I called my family and we all had an awesome google hangout! As I was openeing my envelope my Aussie roommate shouts out! You're going to California...and guess what?!
She's obviously a really good guesser... :)

Then my roommate Becca and I made a trip over to Deseret Book to get a tiny Preach my Gospel and we got some awesome CTR rings! :D
While we were there, the lady checking us out asked where I was going on my mission. Turns out she's from Santa Rosa! She had goosebumps and was so excited for me!

Today was fabulous! I'm so excited to finally know where the Lord will have me spend the next 1 months of my life. I'm so excited to preach the gospel and am still in awe of the fact that he trusts me enough with this important work! I can't wait to leave and get started! I love the gospel and can't wait to share it with others!

Deep Thoughts

Wow, two days. I'm on a role! Haha! So, I had no classes today and was catching up on some homework for my English class. Is it weird that an article for homework made me want to start blogging consistently? http://magazine.byu.edu/?act=view&a=2537

Well, it did. Basically, recording conscious and subconscious thoughts help us to accomplish individualization and move away from being an Ophelia...and who wants that? I mean, I gave up watching TV and joining my roommate party so I could read this. It's intense. READ IT! Especially if you're in any kind of teaching position.

Sexy Rexy

I'm sure everyone thought I was crazy when I decided to come Idaho for school, I mean heck, I think I was crazy half the time! I've spent most of my life in Indiana and although Indiana has corn, and Idaho has potatoes (which was really all I knew about this place until I got here), I really felt like this was where I needed to be so, even though it was a bit begrudgingly, this is where I came.

Really, the drive out here was spectacular and I probably live in the prettiest part of Idaho. I'm maybe and hours drive from Yellowstone. I mean really, here are some pics. If you still think this place sucks, I don't know...it took a long time to grow on me, but I think it's fabulous!

Anyways, I have one semester left here before I leave for my mish, and I'm gonna try to document it. Maybe third time will be the charm since, I never remember to do this every time I say I will. But seriously, this place has helped me meet so many amazing people and I can never get too down on myself or depressed before the Lord sends someone my way to kick my butt back into shape.

So, I'm always writing about how long it has been since I've gotten on here and I really do need to change that. It;s my last summer before real life and college in the fall so, I think I'm gonna blog about it. I'm gonna try to start getting on here once a week. That's my goal. Let's see how this goes. ;)
